Jim Ciroli joined Flagstar in 2014 as its chief financial officer with responsibility for the bank’s accounting, financial planning/forecasting, investor relations, secondary marketing, tax, and treasury functions.  

 

He has over 30 years of experience in banking and financial services in various roles. Prior to Flagstar, he was senior vice president and chief accounting officer at First Niagara, where his responsibilities included accounting, accounting policy, treasury and capital markets, SEC and regulatory reporting, sourcing, and taxes. He also was senior vice president and assistant controller at Huntington Bancshares and held senior managerial positions at KeyCorp. He started his career as a CPA at Deloitte & Touche.

 

His financial experience is broad and deep. He has participated in all aspects of the acquisition and divestiture process involving banks, broker/dealers, finance companies, and asset managers. He has helped to launch a section 20 broker/dealer subsidiary; start an SBIC within a bank holding company structure; initiate asset securitizations; deploy and convert application systems; and develop tax planning processes.

 

He serves in leadership positions on the board of directors of Lighthouse MI and the Michigan Opera Theatre.
