Kristina Janssens is executive vice president and chief compliance officer, a position she assumed in 2021. In this role, she is responsible for establishing standards and processes to ensure that compliance programs bank-wide are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, and correcting noncompliance with applicable rules and regulations.

Janssens joined Flagstar in 2014 as senior vice president and deputy general counsel and held that position until her appointment as chief compliance officer. As deputy general counsel, she supported the Mortgage Servicing, Information Security, and Privacy business units with legal support, advice, and risk analysis during a period of exponential growth and increased regulation.

Additionally, her expertise has been key to developing Flagstar’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy and establishing the company’s employee resource groups. She also played a leadership role in creating the framework for the talent engagement and development initiatives of Flagstar’s DEI strategy.

Prior to joining Flagstar, she was in private practice where she specialized in providing banks and financial institutions guidance on regulatory compliance matters.

She is on the board of directors of Todd Martin Youth Leadership.
