Crafting solutions to help business customers lower costs and boost productivity.

After graduating with a bachelors in administrative management from Davenport University, Cheryl Garland sold long-term care and disability insurance with Northwestern Mutual—sparking her interest in sales. She then spent ten years at Comerica—three in retail, working as a utility teller, then debit card operations and adjustments. The remaining seven years on their treasury management sales team, where she developed their sales support training program.

Now at Flagstar, Garland uses the knowledge she’s gained over the years to educate Michigan branch employees about treasury management. “Our services uncover efficiencies for small businesses—helping to make every penny work for them,” she says. “They can craft solutions for business customers to help lower costs and improve productivity.”

Cheryl lives in the metro Detroit area with her husband and eight-year-old daughter. She is highly active at her daughter’s school, where she volunteers for after-school programs and events.
