You have indicated that you acquired an ownership interest in the borrower’s property as the result of a divorce or separation. Please note that, in order to confirm you as a successor in interest to the borrower, we will require proof that you were transferred an ownership interest in the borrower’s property and proof of your identity.

GIVEN YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES, WE WILL ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

To prove that there was a divorce or separation:

• Divorce judgment; or
• Judgment of partition of community property

To prove that you were transferred an ownership interest in the borrower’s property:

• If the property was transferred through a deed:
  • Deed transferring the property to you
• If a divorce decree or judgment affecting the property was issued by a court in a state other than Louisiana:
  • Deed transferring the property to you
• If you do not have a deed, but do have a divorce judgment or judgment of partition of community property containing language presently vesting title in you, either:
  • Divorce judgment, or
  • Judgment of partition of community property
• If you do not have a deed, but do have a divorce judgment that incorporates a community property settlement agreement that contains language presently vesting title in you, both:
  • Divorce judgment, and
  • Community property settlement agreement
• If you do not currently have a deed, and the divorce judgment or judgment of partition of community property only orders the sale of the real property:
  • Deed transferring the property to you
