Please note that, in order to confirm you as a successor in interest to the borrower, we will require proof that you were transferred an ownership interest in the borrower’s property and proof of your identity.

To prove that there was a divorce or separation:

• Divorce decree
  

To prove that you were transferred an ownership interest in the borrower’s property:

• If the property was transferred through a deed
  • Deed transferring the property to you
• If a divorce decree or judgment affecting the property was issued by a court in a state other than Maryland:
  • Deed transferring the property to you
• If you do not have a deed, but do have a divorce decree that evidences the transfer of ownership to you:
  • Divorce decree
• If you have a divorce decree that incorporates a deed, agreement, or settlement that evidences the transfer of ownership to you:
  • Divorce decree, and either the:
    • Deed
    • Agreement, or
    • Settlement
• If you do not currently have a deed, but do have a divorce decree that only authorizes the purchase of the real property:
  • Deed transferring the property to you
