Transfer Resulting from a Divorce or Separation - Nebraska

You have indicated that you acquired an ownership interest in the borrower’s property as the result of a divorce or separation. Please note that, in order to confirm you as a successor in interest to the borrower, we will require proof that you were transferred an ownership interest in the borrower’s property and proof of your identity.
GIVEN YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES, WE WILL ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:
To prove that there was a divorce or separation:
- Divorce decree
To prove that you were transferred an ownership interest in the borrower’s property:
- If the property was transferred through a deed:
- Deed transferring the property to you
- If a divorce decree or judgment affecting the property was issued by a court in a state other than Nebraska:
- Deed transferring the property to you
- If you do not have a deed, and the time mentioned in the divorce decree for the other party to execute a deed has expired:
- Divorce decree
- If you do not have a deed, but do have a divorce decree that incorporates a settlement agreement and the time mentioned in the divorce decree for the other party to execute a deed has expired, both:
- Divorce decree; and
- Settlement agreement
To prove your identity:
- Your photo identification
