Please note that, in order to confirm you as a successor in interest to the borrower, we will require proof that you were transferred an ownership interest in the borrower’s property and proof of your identity.

GIVEN YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES, WE WILL ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

To prove that there was a divorce or separation:

• Divorce decree; or
• Decree of legal separation

To prove that you were transferred an ownership interest in the borrower’s property:

• If the property was transferred through a deed:
  • Deed transferring the property to you
• If a divorce decree or judgment affecting the property was issued by a court in a state other than Wisconsin:
  • Deed transferring the property to you
• If you do not have a deed, but do have a divorce decree or decree of legal separation that evidences the transfer of ownership interest to you, either:
  • Recorded divorce decree, or
  • Recorded decree of legal separation
• If you do not have a deed, but do have a divorce decree or decree of legal separation that incorporates a settlement agreement and evidences the transfer of ownership interest to you:
  • Separation agreement, and either the:
    • Recorded divorce decree, or
    • Recorded decree of legal separation
• If you do not currently have a deed, but do have a divorce decree or decree of legal separation that does not include specific language that evidences the transfer of ownership interest to you:
  • Deed transferring the property to you
