Accounts and services will move to Flagstar over the weekend of November 30. During this transition, access to your accounts and banking services will be limited.

Please plan ahead and take care of any online banking activities prior to 12 p.m. ET on Friday, November 30.

Prior to Friday, November 30.

Some services will need to be set up on Flagstar Online and Mobile Banking even if you currently use them at Wells Fargo. To help make this process easier, we recommend you print or download certain information from Wells Fargo Online Banking, including:

  • Dates and frequencies of any scheduled and recurring account transfers.
  • eBills information.
  • Zelle® recipients.
  • Scheduled payments.
  • Text and email alerts.
  • Quicken or QuickBooks records that you may want to keep.
  • Scheduled ACH or wire payments.

Bill payment payees, scheduled online payments and recurring payments will transfer but we encourage you to print/download these items now and then verify your information on December 3.

As of 12 p.m. ET on Friday, November 30.

  • If you have any accounts remaining with Wells Fargo, you can continue to access them through Wells Fargo online and mobile banking.

As of 3 p.m. on Friday, November 30.

  • Keep in mind, Wells Fargo branches that are becoming Flagstar branches will close at this time.
  • Some branch ATMs may be temporarily unavailable from November 30 through December 4 as they convert to Flagstar ATMs.
  • If you received a new Flagstar Debit or ATM card, be sure you’ve activated it so your card is ready to use December 1. Be sure to use the following format when entering your date of birth: mm/dd/yy. Your Wells Fargo debit/ATM card will no longer work as of this date.

Additional actions for December 3.

Here’s how to customize your online and mobile banking experience once you’re enrolled and ready to go.

Reschedule current transfers.

Any scheduled account transfers will not come over to your online banking profile at Flagstar.

To set up transfers at Flagstar:

  1. Select Pay and Transfer from the navigation at the top of the page.
  2. Select Transfers.
  3. Select Internal Transfer to set up transfers to and from your Flagstar accounts. Or select External Transfer to add your accounts at other banks.
  4. Then follow the on-screen prompts to complete your set up.

Note: For recurring internal transfers, you can select daily, weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly, bimonthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. For recurring external transfers, you can select weekly, every 15 days, monthly, every 2 weeks, semi-annually, or first or last business day of every month.

To order checks online, go to the Account Summary page and click the Order Checks link next to the account for which you need checks.

Establish eStatements.

Go green and receive your statements securely online. Even if you currently receive eStatements, you’ll need to enroll for eStatements at Flagstar. Select Profile and Settings, then select Statement Preferences. Otherwise, you’ll be mailed a paper statement. Up to 3 months of eStatements will be available as of December 3 and will accrue to up to 24 months of eStatements.

Take Control

Use Debit Card Controls to protect your account from unauthorized use:
  • Report and disable a lost or stolen debit card.
  • Block a misplaced debit card; unblock it if it’s found.
  • Set spending limits for each card.
  • Control use by merchant or transaction type.
  • Allow or block use by location.
  • Receive alerts when your card is used.

Enroll with Zelle® (for personal banking customers).

You’ll need to enroll with Zelle even if you currently use Zelle at Wells Fargo. Select Payments and Transfers on the online banking home page or click on the Quick link: Send money with Zelle®. You’ll then be asked to accept the terms and conditions and you’ll be ready to send money to practically anyone with a bank account in the U.S. All you need is the preferred email address or U.S. mobile phone number of the recipient.

Set up Alerts.

Existing Wells Fargo alerts won’t transition to Flagstar Online and Mobile Banking, but most alerts can be re-established beginning December 3, 2018. Click on the Alerts option from the Profile and Settings menu and follow the on-screen prompts.

Add users.

Establish any entitlements or guest users that you wish to bank on your behalf. Under Profile and Settings – select users and follow the prompts to add users.

Set up MyWallet.

Budget, track expenses, review spending, and monitor your financial relationships with over 17,000 financial institutions with MyWallet. This is a great way to track your credit cards and brokerage accounts at other institutions, including any Wells Fargo accounts you may still have.

Once you’ve logged in to Flagstar Online Banking:

  1. Select the Pay A Bill quick link.
  2. Click on Enroll.
  3. Accept Bill Pay terms and conditions.

$99,999 per day.

Bill payment history:
Up to 12 months will transfer.

  • Any scheduled payments from an account moving to Flagstar, including one-time and recurring online bill payments set up at Wells Fargo, will transfer to Flagstar Online and Mobile Banking. We do recommend that you verify your bill payments in the Payment Center (see Figure 2).
  • See page 10 to review the timing of online payments at Flagstar. Remember to verify the payment delivery date.
Figure 3

Making payments.

  1. Simply select your payee, enter the amount you wish to pay and the deliver by date for the payment.
  2. Click on Send Money to confirm the payment.
  3. To set up any new payees, use the Add a Company or Person option in the Payment Center (see Figure 3).

Important: The timing of online payments at Flagstar is different than what you were accustomed to at Wells Fargo. At Flagstar, your account won’t be debited until the “deliver by” date. Use this chart to help you schedule your payments appropriately.

Online Bill Payment at Wells Fargo Online Bill Payment at Flagstar
Your account is debited on the date your payment is sent. Your account is debited on the “deliver by” (due date) specified on your payment rather than the date payment is sent. For payments that go out as a draft check, the debit is made on the day the recipient cashes the check.
Payment is only sent if you have funds in your account to cover the payment. Payment is sent so it will arrive on the deliver by date. You must be sure you have funds in your account to cover the payment on the deliver by date.

There is a $25,000 maximum per payment and a $99,999 maximum per day. So you can make multiple payments if you need to pay more than $25,000 at a time. Bill payments cannot be made from credit cards.

Re-establish your eBills.

Existing eBills will be cancelled on November 30. You’ll then need to set up your eBills in Flagstar Online Banking. Please note that it can take 5 - 10 business days for an eBill cancellation to be processed and before it can be set up again at Flagstar. So please be sure to make alternate payment arrangements, if necessary.
