Qualification criteria

Businesses that are at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by U.S. citizens who are members of one of the following groups qualify as certified diverse suppliers:

  • African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian Pacific Americans, Asian Indian Americans
  • Small business enterprises qualified by the Small Business Administration (SBA)
  • Individuals with disabilities
  • Women
  • Veterans, service veterans, and disabled veterans
  • Members of the LGBTQ community

Engagement with our third-party management team and/or meeting the supplier diversity qualification criteria will not produce a preferred supplier status, but it does allow for potential consideration as future opportunities arise.

 

2022 accomplishments

  • Hired a full-time supplier diversity manager to mature our supplier diversity strategy
  • Presented at the 2022 National Black & Latino Economic Summit’s Supplier Diversity Programs panel
  • Participated in the Michigan Minority Procurement Conference’s Buyer Opportunity Exchange
  • Elevated our support of minority-owned businesses to the national level with our support of the National Minority Supplier Development Council 
  • Joined the Council of Supplier Diversity Professionals and Financial Services Roundtable for Supplier Diversity to gain access to best practices
