How to change your password

Your password is the first line of defense to protect your information, so make it a strong one, according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, part of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The agency recommends creating passwords with at least 8 characters, preferably 15, and using a password manager to avoid common phases and sequences.

 

It’s easy to change your password for Flagstar online banking. Simply follow these steps:

  • Sign into your account.
  • Select Settings in the upper right corner of your screen.
  • On the next screen, select Profile then Password.
  • From there, choose whether to get a text message or call with your verification code.
  • Once you verify your information, you can change your password.

Protect your password

Flagstar will never ask you for your password—not by text, email, phone, or in person. It’s your key to access your account. No one else needs to know it.
